“I’ve been a recordist since my teens, inspired by working with some fine producers in my twenties and producing records myself shortly thereafter. In the late 90s I began my journey as a proper recording engineer and have been obsessed ever since. I work out of any room that seems appropriate for the project and also run Crackle & Pop! Studio in Ballard, Seattle.”

This americana band grew up on late 80's early 90's alternative rock, Replacements, REM, Soul Asylum... We took that touchstone and went to Soundhouse Recording and with a little help from Mike Musburger got some huge drum sounds. Keys man Tony was out of the country which was a fair excuse to record too many guitars. Loud rock!
Producer, Engineer, Mixer
This EP was tracked on Vashon Island at Jason Staczek's Pumpkin Palace compound. Overdubs were done at Mo's place and Tony's basement and the mix was at Crackle & Pop!

This project came to me through Stuart Hallerman at Avast Studio. The band had contacted him and needed someone to record them. Stuart took a listen and recommended me. It turned out to be a blast, shoe gaze-y psych rock anthems. Tracked and mixed at Avast Recording.

Recorded from the ground up at Crackle & Pop! Leslie Braly's songs have a lyrical depth and that sense of a place in the world that comes from the deep South. Alabama born, she's been in the northwest for a decade or more. Her band here is blooming and coming into it's own. We took the record to master it and the band hit it off so well with mastering engineer Ed Brooks that soon they were playing shows together. They were so thrilled that they had him come in and overdub on a couple of tunes to get him on the record. Look out for this crew.

One of those records that has an unconventional path. The original recordings were done by Joe Queer @ Scabby Road Studios, due to a lineup change it was decided to replace the original drums. The new drums, some bass and vocals were completed at Crackle & Pop! where the record was also mixed. Awesome Ramones styled rock n roll. And yes, there's a baseball theme.

I tracked a couple of songs on this and did some overdubbing too. Aaron had lined up a "free day" at a friends studio. On the morning when I arrived to start setting up, there was a band crashed all over the place from a show the night before. The mic pre's weren't wired into a patchbay and the AC unit in the control room was blasting about 85db of white noise. I'm really amazed we managed to get useable tracks that day. But we did. Pretty killer ones in fact.
Engineer, Mixer
